The beliefs of Grace Reformed Baptist Church are not of recent origin but have been believed by Baptists and Reformed Christians for centuries. Our confession of faith goes back to the time when English Baptists met in London in 1689 and drew up the London Baptist Confession.
More importantly we believe that the faith we adhere to and teach is taught very clearly in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. It is nothing less than the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ and His inspired Apostles.
Among these beliefs are:
The Authority of the
Bible: "All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
II Timothy 3:16
The Tri-unity of God
or the Trinity:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit."
Matthew 28:19
The Deity of Jesus
Christ: "Looking
for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God
and Savior Jesus Christ."
Titus 2:13
Salvation from sin
and its consequences:
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved."
Romans 10:9
The Second Coming
of Christ: "This
same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come
in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven, will so come in
like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."
Acts 1:11
The Centrality of
the Church: "I
write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself
in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the
pillar and ground of the truth."
I Timothy 3:15
It is our belief that a knowledge of these truths and others commonly called evangelical is essential to all who would know the One whom to know is life eternal.
